Agricultural weather alerts
Frost alerts for crops and agricultural fields
Stop checking every field forecast repeatedly. Set a temperature threshold for each field and get notified when the forecast shows a condition that needs your attention.
Frost monitoring tailored to each field
Field-specific thresholds
Choose the temperature you want to monitor for each field. Different crops and situations may require different thresholds.
Hourly forecast
Rules evaluate forecast temperatures within your selected window, up to a maximum forecast horizon of 72 hours.
Automatic notifications
When the forecast meets your threshold, Vienor can notify you by email or push according to your preferences.
How to set up a frost alert
- Add your field on the map so the forecast is associated with its location.
- Create a frost rule, choose a temperature threshold and monitoring window.
- Vienor periodically reviews the forecast and notifies you when the condition is forecast.
Example: monitoring a low of 2 °C
If a field needs attention when temperatures of 2 °C or lower are forecast, set that threshold in a rule. The platform checks hourly forecast data. This is only an example: appropriate thresholds depend on the crop, growth stage and technical judgment.
Vienor uses forecasts, not measurements from an on-site weather station. Alerts do not guarantee frost will occur and do not replace local observations or agronomic advice.
Frequently asked questions
What temperature should trigger a frost alert?
There is no universal threshold. The right temperature depends on crop type, growth stage and local conditions. You choose the threshold for each rule.
How early will Vienor notify me?
Rules can evaluate hourly forecasts up to 72 hours ahead. Actual lead time depends on when the condition appears in the forecast and your selected window; no fixed advance warning is guaranteed.
Can I set different alerts for multiple fields?
Yes. Rules belong to individual fields and can use different thresholds.
What if the forecast changes?
Vienor periodically reevaluates the forecast. As with any forecast, conditions may change as new information becomes available.
